Our O2 sensor spacer is designed with a built-in mini catalytic converter that slightly shifts the downstream oxygen sensor away from direct exhaust gas flow. This spacer modifies the sensor’s readings by simulating catalytic activity, fooling the vehicle’s ECU into detecting normal catalytic converter function. As a result, it helps prevent false P0420 and P0430 trouble codes and keeps the Check Engine Light (CEL) off — without requiring ECU tuning or expensive catalytic converter replacement.
The mini catalytic converter inside the spacer facilitates partial oxidation of exhaust gases near the sensor, producing cleaner emissions readings and maintaining the proper air-fuel mixture balance recognized by the ECU.
